Video: Cop Thrashed In Madhya Pradesh. Locals Allege He Had Hit A Man

A disturbing video has emerged from Madhya Pradesh of a policeman being thrashed by locals with sticks in a village. Villagers have alleged the cop had hit a person on his head. Police, nonetheless, stated the locals obtained indignant after they had been advised to close retailers after the Covid curfew was violated.

The 17-second clip posted by information company ANI exhibits a number of indignant males in a village in Chhatarpur, about 330 km from state capital Bhopal, brutally thrashing the cop. One of them apparently has a head harm. Nobody is sporting a masks as mandated by the federal government.

Speaking to reporters, one other police officer, Shashank Jain, stated: “We had got inputs that Covid curfew is being violated in Jhamtuli village. A team went there to enforce restrictions. Some people got angry when they were told to shut shops and they thrashed staff.”

“We are still probing the matter. As soon as we get more details, we will take necessary action,” he added.

Earlier this week, a team led by a woman tehsildar (revenue official) that visited Malikhedi village of Ujjain district to inspire villagers for Covid vaccination was attacked by locals. A broadly circulated video of the incident on social media exhibits the medical staff members operating after the assault on them.

Last 12 months, some healthcare workers and civic officers had been attacked by a mob of indignant locals in an Indore neighbourhood after they visited the world to display residents for indicators of novel coronavirus an infection.
