The threat of additional eruptions from volcano Nyiragongo led DR Congo authorities to order the evacuation of elements of town of Goma Thursday, inflicting a direct exodus of tens of 1000’s of individuals, an AFP correspondent stated.
“Current data on seismicity and the deformation of the ground indicate the presence of magma under the urban area of Goma, with an extension under Lake Kivu,” the native army governor General Constant Ndima stated in a broadcasted public tackle.
